  • Master of Arts in History, Addis Ababa University
    • My MA thesis examined the dynamics of political, social and economic interactions between neighbouring populations in southern Ethiopia, Sidama and Wolayta, ca. 1941-2005. My research demonstrated how environmental scarcity, demographic expansion and state policies affected resource access and the interaction of the two populations in 20th century Ethiopia.
  • Bachelor of Arts in History, Addis Ababa University
    • My BA thesis was a piece of social history that reconstructed and analyzed the life stories of two ordinary Ethiopians living in Hawassa.

III. Experience

  • Three years experience as a coordinator for the Department’s B.A. theses, of both the regular and extension divisions(from September 2010- September 2012
  • Two years experience as a coordinator for the Summer In-service Program of the Faculty of Social Sciences(From September 2011- August 2012)
  • Eight years teaching experience at Addis Ababa University, Department of History (From September 2004 to August 2012).
  • Three months experience with one of USAID financed projects, Ethiopian Sanitary and Phyto-Sanitary and Livestock Meat Marketing Program as Technical Writer and Editor. (From March 05 to May 30, 2008 on part-time basis)
